Johnny Markin’s latest CD represents a foray into an acoustic instrumental vein. Combining traditional sacred favourites with creative, ‘rootsy’ arrangements, Johnny and band take the listener on a musical journey that has one singing the well-known stanzas to oneself.

Co-producer Steve Klassen skilfully interweaves the guitar-based arrangements with strains of Celtic whistles, accordion, African percussion, and other more modern instrumentation, to give the listener a diverse blend of past meeting present day.

Award-winning guitarist Jacob Moon also makes an appearance on the CD, guesting on Take My LIfe And Let It Be.

The album was recorded in Abbotsford, BC, Canada at The Sound Suite studios.

“This has been a project I’ve dreamed of doing for about 12 years. I’ve been working on some of the arrangements that long!”, says Markin.

Tracks include:

  1. Doxology (Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow)
  2. All Creatures of Our God and King
  3. Christ The Lord Is Risen Today
  4. What A Friend We Have In Jesus
  5. Take My Life And Let It Be
  6. Amazing Grace
  7. It Is Well
  8. Here Is Love
  9. Nothing But The Blood
  10. And Can It Be
  11. Just As I Am
